How to Get Back Pain Relief For Acute Symptoms
There are many different causes of back pain. However, there are only two types of back pain: acute and chronic. Acute pain is sharp, severe, intense and typically comes on suddenly. On the other hand, chronic pain is pain that is recurring and/or constant. By understanding more about the acute symptoms, you will be able to make your own diagnosis and get some back pain relief while waiting for your treatment. Acute pain can be brought on by an injury or by a chronic problem that may have gone untreated until it becomes acute. Believe me, you will know when it is acute, you will not need a doctor to tell you that you have acute pain, however, you do need to see your doctor if you have not done so already. Even if you are in acute pain you need to maintain the natural curve in your spine as much as possible. If you sit, be sure to sit without slouching. Use a lumbar roll to help you sit properly. While in acute pain you should sit as little as possible and then only for brief periods. If you must sit, choose a firm chair and do not sit on a soft couch or chair because that will make it harder to keep a good posture. Try not to ride in a car or drive, however if you really must drive then make sure your seat is far enough back from the steering wheel so that your arms are fairly straight. Because if your arms are straight your upper body will be held back and this way you will not slouch. You must always use a lumbar roll when driving or riding in a car. In addition, there are some other things to keep in mind when you are in acute pain. You should not try to lift anything, and wear a supportive role around your waist at night, do not sleep on a sagging bed, and do not cough or sneeze when sitting were bending forward. This last tip may sound crazy lot, but if you feel you are going to cough or sneeze try to bend backward a little bit. One of the most important things you can do when you are in acute pain is to realize that to have back pain relief you must give your body time to heal.
